looking for a book

Help...I am looking for a book but cannot remember the title or author.  I read it in the late 1980's.  It was about a Pirate Lady who had taken to the sea with her father and crew after being raped as a young lady (I think it was someone from the crew that had raped her and he was drawn & quartered and left for dead but obviously survived.).  Her crew is extremely protective of her b/c of this.  Another ship captain meets up with her on the seas and they eventually fall in love and marry.  He teaches her to like men again.  The monster who raped her returns in the book, once at her house and later at a wharehouse where he tries to kill her and her husband (I think a family member is involved in the plot).  Any help would be appreciated!  Thanks

Hi Pizza Lady,

I may or may not have read this (mind like a sieve when it comes to books, but I know what my phone number was when I was 12...go figure).

I searched around a bit and here are some pirate themed books you might want to try:

  • The Windflower (1984) by Laura London (Sharon and Tom Curtis)
  • The Wind and the Sea (1984) by Marsha Canham
  • River Lady (1985) by Jude Deveraux
  • Passion's Bride (1984) by Jo Goodman
  • The Pirate and the Pagan (1990) by Virginia Henley
  • Passion's Ransom (1989) by Betina Krahn
  • The Pirate's Lady (1987) by Kay McMahon

    I hope this helps!

Still searching for your other one!

Thank you so much for your reply.  I looked up the books you suggested, and sadly enough, it isn't any of them.  I think they may have referred to the lady as Cat.  Again, thanks for the time and effort.  Its greatly appreciated!!

Well, bummer. I was really hoping one of those would be it. I'll keep looking. Maybe the "Cat" bit will narrow things a bit...

I believe it might be Pirate's Pleasure by Constance Bennett...
