Hi all! I'm new here! =) I'm wondering if anyone can help me find a historical romance novel set in the 1800's in The USA. Here is the plot (or what I can remember of it anyway). I believe it was set in the south, and the main characters were a plantation owner's daughter and a ship captain. The story line follows that of Shakespeares Taming of the Shrew. The heroine, dislikes the ship captain and believes him to be a fraud of some sort, they meet because he is posing as her neighbors nephew (i believe). For some reason she dresses up as a man and stalls away on his ship, there their romance blooms. Then they get seperated and she finds out that she is pregnant. Her maid, or servant and someone else helps to stall her away on his ship again and there they get married. And live happily ever after.
