A couple of years ago I read 2 Romance novel that I loved. Problem: I can't remember the name of the books or authors. I just remember the story line and parts of them. I think that they were published b/f 1998. Here is second one

2. The young lady in the story is raising her brother. Their father(who died) was a chemists and had this secret formula for a certain perfume. The brother and sister can't find the formula any where and are always doing experiment to figure it out. they need the money. (also I think she is an painter)

The young lady meets the high way man because she was coming back from buying some type of special seeds. But some how some bad men were coming and the highway man saved her. She is mad at him though because she drops her seed. The highway man is really a titled gentlemen but b/c he was kidnapped a couple of years prior (by mistake) he can't go home(for whatever reason)

During the story obviously they are attracted to each other. At one point she get shot and she stays at his house (he has a big house)but he resists her b/c he still has many issues to solve. At one point she runs into the highway man's mother and that is when she figures out who he is. the girl is in danger and the high way man has to rescue her because someone is trying to steal or find out the formula or wants her. At the end they end up together and it turns out that when he was kidnapped they kidnapper were really after her father. Also they find the formula buried in some flowers with money. Also I think that their was another man living with the sister and brother a friend of the father's.
