A couple of years ago I read a book.  I do not remember the title or the author.  I borrowed the book from the library but the library must have sold the book.

Anyway I do remember some of the plot:

       At the beginning the hero walks into his bedroom and finds his wife dead.  Someone grabs him from behind and tries to strangle him.  The hero fights him off but not before the attacker crushes his windpipe. 

       Years later he decides to get married again because he needs an heir.  He can barely speak above a whisper.  The woman he marries does all of the yelling for him. 

       His 1st wife's murderer comes back to destroy him and his new life.

That is all that I remember and I want to read the book again.  Any help would be appreciated.
