Had fire at my home and I am in need to find the author of this book that was one of my favorites, but I cannot rememeber.

Plot:  Scottish heroine ( has visions )flees from cousin whom is forcing her into a marriage with an old man for control of estate.  Her father is in America remarried digging for gold in the colonies.  She meets a captain of a ship who takes her for a doxy and ship goes down in a storm.  Her and him are survivors and she is pregnant, loses baby after seeing her father and stpe mother murdered and is saved again by an indian with "fox" in his name.  I believe her name is Brianna Drummond and the males name is Brandon.  Came out same time as Flame and Flower by Kathleen Woodiwiss.  All the while the old man sent someone to bring her back to England to marry him and murder her.  Meanwhile the captain realizes old man is his mother's ex-lover and beat him when he was a child.
