Help - need new authors!

I am an avid reader of historical and fantasy romance.  I have exhausted Joanna Lindsay, Catherine Coulter, Virginia Henley, Lyndsay Sands, Tereasa Mederios, Hannah Howell and many others.

I am in desperate need of new authors to read.

I will read historicals from any period and country, but my favorites are ones from Scotland and England.  My favorite time frame is the 1500's and before.  I love fantasy ones with dragons, demons, fairies, etc.  I also like books with children, pregnancies, and humour.

If there is anyone out there who can even reccomend one name, I will be very gratefull.  Please help!

How about Bertrice Small and Susan Johnson? Iris Johansen comes to mind as an old fave of mine...

Karen Marie Moning has a whole series of Highlander novels, some are historical, some contemps, some fantasy. It's an amazing set of books with some of the hottest heros around. Yum!

If you like steamy ebooks, I really recommend Anya Bast or Kate Hill. I just picked up a short by Cassandra Curtis that was a ton of fun to read!

Also, try checking our author announcements section. We have a number of great authors who are members of our board. Julia Quinn is a regular and Ayn Amorelli (aka Ayn Hunt) just joined up this week.

I hope some of this helps. Be sure to pop back and let us know which ones you picked up!

Thank you so much for the names.

I went out today and picked up a bunch of books.  The ones by Karen Marie Moning look great so I bought as many as the store had.  I also picked up some books by the other Authors you suggested, they look just as yummy.

I never would have found them without your help.  Thanks again.

Hey, what's a moderator for.

It was my pleasure. BTW, have you checked out this month's reviews. HRC reviews are a great place to get ideas for new reads.

eBooks can be fun and easy to keep with you at all times. Readers are getting cheaper too. I have a Palm Z22. Not the biggest screen on the block, but only a hundred bucks (Canadian!) and it's an organizer too! (I don't work for them, honest. I just love my techno-toys)

For some Scottish medieval romances, try these authors,

DeborahAnne McGillivray - The Restless Knight

Leanne Burroughs - Highland Wishes & Her Highland Rogue.

Dawn Thompson writes historical paranormal -The Falcon's Bride, I think one is called.

Jolie Mathis is a new author -The Sea King is viking.

I second the Karen Marie Moning Highlander series. I love them all.

Kate MacAlister has a cute trilogy: You slay me (1st), Fire me up (2nd), and Light my fire (3rd- due out in november). They are centered around the female character Aisling Grey and her man, Drake Vireo. It is a fantasy/sorcery series. It's not historical, but they are awesome!

Stephanie Laurens is a huge favorite of mine with tons of books out there to read.  I also love Kat Martin.  Good historicals with a lot of spice and alpha males.  Yummy!  Enjoy!  And yes, you will enjoy the Karen Moning series - she's marvelous!
